Stay Active With Outdoor Sports when you Study Spanish in Peru
Cusco is most famous for two things, namely, it is the capital of the Incan empire and it is also the starting point to visiting Machu Picchu. This means that when you visit this part of Peru, you can spend a good deal of time in fascinating museums and famous ruins. After all, Cusco was the capital of the Incan Empire.
However, not only is Peru a country that is rich in cultural history, it also is an amazing geographical region that lends itself perfectly to a variety of outdoor sports. Therefore, when you attend Spanish school in Cusco, don't expect to spend all of your time in the classroom. When you look at Cusco's on the map, you will quickly notice that it is a small city centered right in the mountains. Due to this mountainous location, it is an amazing center for sporting. You can enjoy sports including mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking and rafting. In fact, if you enjoy outdoor activities, this is just one more compelling reason to learn Spanish in Peru. During the week, you will be spending time in class, of course, but you can devote your weekends to enjoying the fresh air and getting some physical activity.
When you go mountain biking in Cusco, you will see a totally unique view of archeological sites and snow-capped mountains. In fact, there are mountain biking routes available for the beginner as well as advanced level riders. So even if you aren't an experienced mountain biker, you can likely find an experience that will suit you. No matter what your experience level happens to be, you might want to consider taking a mountain biking tour. Experienced guides can take you to see the most amazing views.
Of course, it is also recommended to walk the city. Some tours even combine hiking and mountain biking. Many of the tours will include the equipment that you need and even lunch. Horseback riding is also very popular. Some of these treks can be combined with camping too.
Canoeing and rafting is also a lot of fun in Cusco. The three most popular rivers are the Urubamba River, the Apurimac River and the Tambopata River. In addition to seeing these beautiful waterways, there is abundant flora and fauna to check out during your journey.
Don't forget that healthy eating also goes along with all of this outdoor exercise. There is good food for all taste preferences due to the fact that so many international travelers visit the area. In fact, the variety is much more than you would expect in a small city in South America.
Mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking and rafting are just some of the outdoor activities you can enjoy while you learn Spanish in Peru. There is also fishing, parachuting and rock climbing. The bottom line is that the possibilities for entertainment are virtually endless in this outdoor region.
