Weapons Smuggling Charges Filed Against Anna Fermanova
Anna Chapman is out-dated, America; there's a new Russian spy around, with Latvian origins. Anna Fermanova, a native of Latvia who has fascinated with her 24-year-old appearance on Facebook, has presumably stolen military equipment. The New York Daily News reports that the blonde import has allegedly smuggled Raptor 4X Night Vision Weapons Sights to Moscow, where she went to visit her husband, as outlined by court documents. The blonde import was arrested July 15 at her parents' home near Dallas after returning from her most recent Moscow trip.
It 'looks a lot worse than it really is,' claims Anna Fermanova's attorney
"She's a nice Jewish girl who lives with her sweet Latvian parents. There's no terrorism link. There is no espionage," claims Scott Palmer, Anna Fermanova's lawyer. Nevertheless, an informant whose name has not been revealed reportedly tipped immigration off as to Fermanova's smuggling. When federal agents stopped her at Kennedy Airport in New York before she boarded her Moscow-bound flight, they found a $ 7,000 Raptor 4X Night Vision Weapons Sight in Fermanova's suitcase, as well as two other night vision sights worth $ 4,000 each, as outlined by records.
The Daily News writes that Fermanova explained how the scopes were merely for her husband's hunting ventures. After being told that bringing such gear out of the country was illegal without the proper license, Fermanova told authorities that she'd signed some paperwork, but couldn't tell them what it had been for. Clearly, it was not an exporter's license.
Fermanova admits to removing serial numbers from the scopes
Fermanova reportedly used a black marker to cover up the serial numbers on the night vision scopes. Federal agents found her explanation and the act itself rather suspect. While the authorities did allow Fermanova to go to Moscow without the scopes, they later took her passport and arrested her when she returned to America. Fermanova was subjected to the charge of "knowingly and intentionally attempting to export defense articles on the United States Munitions list". Fermanova will serve 10 years for the offense if convicted, reports the Daily News. At this moment, Anna Fermanova is under house arrest in her parents' home, which was made possible when $ 50,000 bail was posted.
She once forged a check
Seven years ago, Anna Fermanova was placed under arrest for a $ 76 check forgery. The previous cosmetology student and English teacher was fined and sentenced to 3 years of probation. When Fermanova was a cosmetology student, she took numerous pictures of herself that made it to Facebook. This attention is not dissimilar to the ogling Anna Chapman received over her own sexy photographs.
