I find that it's always heaps of fun to fantasize about sport. My sport of choice would have to be cricket. World cricket is absolutely thriving right now and is experiencing rapid influxes of money coupled with huge spectacles in its busy calender.
This summers features the Ashes, the IPL and the Twenty 20 world cup in quick succession.
In recent times the game of cricket has transformed a great deal. The Australia cricket team has a challenge to remain at the heights of world cricket because India and South Africa are ready to pounce and dethrown them.
The best side statistically may be India. But they don't travel very well and have only recently started to win test series away from home. The win against NewZealand marked the start of a change and I feel that India will soon be a force home and away.
SA are the team that will probable replace the Aussies at the top of world cricket at the moment. The Saffers have the best skipper in the world who has a strong nerve and an air of confidence.
Many debates exist about who you would put into your world team exist. You could pick a team made up of all rounders.
Many spinners?
Do you play 4 bowlers or 5 bowlers?
Perhaps an aggressive bowling lineup is the way forward?
There are so many options at your disposal in this dreamy situation.
I decided to stop thinking over and over and actually pick the world cricket team that would destroy anything in their wake and deliver crushing blows to their feable opposition.
Opening Batsman: Graeme Smith and Chris Gayle
Middle Order: Sachin Tendulkar, Younis Khan, Ricky Ponting, Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff
Keeper: M S Dhoni
Bowlers: D Steyn, M Johnson, D Vettori
This varies a bit from the world cricket watch team but is still a world beater for my money.
