Al-Haram: Where all the shoes go?
(since like this Ramadan section had turn into "ANY Islamic Question")
I lost several shoes during my pilgrimage to Al-Haram (Masjidul Haram) recently. To my knowledge, everytime the cleaners wash the entrance, they'll swipe away all shoes that are "misplaced" infront of the entrance. I saw quite some amount of bags with "lost shoes" everyday taken out by the cleaners.
Where are they taken? Resold to nearby store? So there are hadis don't ask around for lost property in mosque but why don't the authority do something about it? It's stressful for pilgrims sometimes.
I agree with AQ, but we can't help it. Having not seen the thief by our eyes, we cannot do anything.
I have been to Masjid ul haram many many times ALhumdulillah, and I have lost many pairs. One incident I would like to mention here, I came out at the shoe rack and there were 2 or 3 women, and they wore the chappals of someone else when they couldn't find theirs. I was shocked, literally. They just came out after praying and didn't even leave the boundary of a masjid and they stole it. and do you know what their thinking is?Many people think that, when someone else has stolen Our shoes, then its fine to take someone else's shoes.
May Allah guide them, its better to walk bared foot than to commit such a big sin.
