an interesting case question... can you comment on it? A Company manufacturing mopeds is planning for an export drive. They are presently selling 85 cc moped in the Indian market at $400. This is inclusive of 20% excise duty and 10% sales tax. The company has a turnover of $1.7 millions and is a profit making company. They are trying to enter the African market and find that the Chines mopeds are available at USD 225.00. What advise would you give to them on costing and pricing?.........@$toRs45

Position your brand as elite. Hire a good advertising and marketing team early and fund it well. Create your marketing messages to your strengths and work with all aspects of your business divisions to not have to retool for the new market.
With the numbers you have mentioned, your product is around +30% over the Chinese model. If you market well, you might be able to make that +40-45%.
