Marriage in the eyes of our Lord?

I Bruce H. (a protestent, a fellow christian born in Toronto, Canada) did marry Narses P.(a catholic, also a fellow christian born in Cebu, Philippines ) On The 30th Day of June in the year of our Lord 2006 at the City Hall in the City of Toronto Canada.

Since our marriage took place at the City Hall, one the priest at St. Micheals here in Toronto, Canada and her sister in Ottawa, Canada, told her that she is not entitaled to take the Holy Communion because our union did not take place in the a a Catholic Church!

So the qestion that I Bruce H. of Toronto, Canada, put to you good folks of the Philippines is this! Since our marriage took place at city hall, rather then in a Catholic Church, is it in the eyes of our Lord to be treated as dirt!

So you're not Catholic? I'm just getting the facts straight is all...and she is; so why'd you tell them you got married in city hall?

Ya should have just told them you were married, period.

Catholics are weird like that and personally, I'd tell one said priest to kiss your butt...and take her to a different Catholic Church.

OR you could always renew your vows in the Church if that makes everybody feel better.

But no, your marriage should not be treated as dirt --- you made the commitment; the where/how is neither here nor there.
