GREEK SILVER OBOL SAMARIA ANCIENT COIN ARCHAEOLOGY $120.00 |

What would be the equivalent of an ancient Greek obol in current dollars?
I'm not asking how much an ancient obol is worth, I'm wondering how much it was worth at the time in comparison to how much a dollar is worth now.
Well, a obol was 1/6 of a drachma. A drachma was about a day's salary for a person. So you can say it was 1/6 of a day's labor. So if you work a 9-5 job, it would worth be a little more than a hour's worth of work. Its impossible to be more specific due to the above mentioned changes and abandonment of the gold standard.
