Why does metalica (spanish) refer to money? Isn't it dinero?
My teacher told me that this is the first time she sees a book as metalica as money. This Spanish two book is using Cypress Falls High, Houston, Texas. ISBN: 007861970x spanish.glencoe.com.
I am curious why would this book use "metalica" as "cash".
The situation in a lesson is in a train station in Spain. Thanks
That's a regionalism that happens in Spain. Dinero is the standard word for money, but hard cash usually has a different term according to country: in different places you could say cambio, sencillo, monedas, suelto, and metalica.
