Cyclist Floyd Landis Fesses To PEDs, Accuses Lance Armstrong
Floyd Landis took synthetic testosterone, erythropoietin, human growth hormones (HGH) and various female hormones during his professional cycling career. He also had blood transfusions that boosted oxygen volume and endurance for quicker recovery. This began to come to light in 2006 when Landis was stripped of his Tour de France title, but Landis is only getting around to admitting guilt now, writes USA Today. Landis told the New York Times that his PED days began when he joined the U.S. Postal cycling team in 2002. Landis could have left it at that, but instead he went on to attack Lance Armstrong, whom Landis claims won seven Tour de Frances with the help of PEDs.

Floyd Landis claims he simply had to clear the air
USA Today indicates that Floyd Landis has been very candid in a recent series of e-mails to cycling officials. Landis told ESPN he couldn't handle the lies any more, but he came across like an attention monger. Landis admits no feelings of guilt over doping, claiming that everyone was doing it and it was necessary to be competitive. It was either take the drugs or rearrange his life around how many unsecured personal loans he could secure, he'd have us believe. Yet Lance Armstrong was able to compete on the highest level and pass his drug tests. That factoid didn't seem to resonate with Floyd Landis.

This despite numerous damning comments in Floyd Landis’s e-mails, writes the Wall Street Journal. According to Landis, U.S. Postal team manager Johan Bruyneel was the PED "doctor" who set him up with all the drugs a championship cyclist might need. An ongoing federal investigation has kept the other names Landis references in his tell-all e-mails out of the public eye. But it is known that fellow bikers like George Hincapie, Levi Leipheimer and David Zabriskie are also implicated. Floyd Landis has no hard documentation to corroborate his claims, though.
